Texas Birder Press was created for people who love birds, nature, adventure, and the stories that connect us to the outdoors. Whether you are an experienced birder with a life list longer than a grocery receipt or someone who just bought your first pair of binoculars and wonders why everyone gets so excited over little brown birds, you are in the right place.

This website is home to books, journals, field guides, puzzles, and other resources designed to help you enjoy nature a little more and perhaps laugh a little more often along the way. We believe learning should be fun, birding should be welcoming, and every outing has the potential to become a story worth telling.

You will find books on birding locations, bird photography, nature travel, and the occasional project that simply seemed too interesting not to write. We also plan to offer used birding and nature books because there is something magical about discovering a wonderful book that has already been loved by someone else.

Texas Birder Press is a small publishing company with a simple goal: create useful, enjoyable resources for people who are curious about the natural world. We are not a giant corporation with meetings about meetings. Around here, ideas often begin with a cup of coffee, a notebook full of scribbles, and someone saying, “I wonder if anybody would read a book about that?”

The answer, we hope, is yes.

As the site grows, so will our collection of books and resources. We invite you to visit often and, even better, join our mailing list. Subscribers will receive updates on new books, special offers, articles, birding adventures, and perhaps the occasional tale of a rare bird that got away while the author was fiddling with camera settings.

And if you are wondering, yes, it is entirely possible that birding becomes an obsession. It starts innocently enough. You buy binoculars. Then a field guide. Then a better pair of binoculars. Before long, you are driving three hours to see a bird whose name you cannot pronounce while explaining to your family that this is perfectly normal behavior.
